Fahimeh Ramezani Tehrani, M.D.

Senior Scholar 

Dr. Tehrani serves as Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Director of the Reproductive Endocrinology Research Center, Research Institute for Endocrine Sciences, at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, in Tehran, Iran. She has served as national director of various United Nation Population Fund (UNFPA) projects. Dr. Tehrani’s contributions to reproductive endocrinology and women’s health are internationally acknowledged, with over 500 scientific publications, books, and patents, holding top ranking in scientometrics among all obstetricians and gynecologists world-wide and acknowledged as a top 2% scientist based on the Stanford reports for 2022-23. Dr. Tehrani has been honored with numerous prestigious national and international awards for her work. She obtained her MD degree and completed her training in obstetrics and gynecology at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and subsequently completed a Takemi fellowship in International Health at Harvard School of Public Health.

Sana Hatoum, M.D.

Associate Scholar 

Dr. Hatoum obtained her medical degree from Beirut Arab University in Lebanon, and completed a postdoctoral research fellowship, and an internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology, at the American University of Beirut (AUB) Medical Center. She also served as a consultant at the Mobile University of Health of the Global Health Institute at AUB.

She holds membership in various professional organizations, including the Androgen Excess and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Society, the Endocrine Society, and the Lebanese Order of Physicians.

Dr. Hatoum is actively involved in reproductive endocrinology research, particularly focusing on polycystic ovary syndrome, and collaborates with an international team led by Professor Dr. Ricardo Azziz.

Mina Amiri, Ph.D.

Scholar

Dr. Mina Amiri is an assistant professor of reproductive health at the Research Institute for Endocrine Sciences, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBMU) in Tehran, Iran. She completed a Ph.D. in reproductive health and a postdoctoral research fellowship in reproductive endocrinology, both at SBMU, a high-ranked university in Iran. She is a member of Iran’s National Elites Foundation and the Office of Talent. She is also a full member of the Endocrine Society which awarded her the Early Career Forum Award in 2023.

She has been recognized as a top researcher among SBMU faculty members for several years. She has also received several awards for her excellence in teaching. Her research focuses on reproductive endocrinology, particularly polycystic ovary syndrome. She has led and participated in many national and international research projects, secured several research grants, and published over 70 articles in high-ranked journals.

Dr. Amiri’s contributions extend beyond research, as she serves as a reviewer, editorial board member, and guest editor for a number of highly ranked journals.
